When you tune your consciousness into the inner universe, rather like tuning a radio channel, you might be able to listen to your inner voice.
Perhaps true peace emanating from inside your heart will spread out or, maybe, you will notice things which alread exist. You may observe a life force which created all things such as the universe; that there exists something so great and awe inspiring inside of each one of us.
It is not something outside, not what you see with your eyes, but that which are able to feel with your heart. Indeed, when you notice something inside yourself, your perception of the outside world might be altered.
As an expression of the deep inner soul, the existence of which is a core belief I hold. I have represented something to encapsulate the essence of the sound of the inner universe which can be felt deep within your heart.
Fine Artist Ryoko Minamitani explores the relationship between spirituality and artistic expression through meditative states. She attempts to transfer the true nature of the inner unconscious behind the mental and emotional phenomena on a mixed media painting and installation by using various materials.
Ryoko is influenced by abstract expressionism, Zen painting, Bokusho (Contemporary cerography), psychology and spiritualism such as Shintoism, Zen Buddhism, Non-dualism, Healing therapies. Ryoko studied painting meditation under painter Yokoo Tatsuhiko in Germany; and holds an MA Art & Design from the Leeds Beckett University. She has been showing her works in Japan and UK. She is Japanese and currently lives and works in Leeds UK.
The artwork is comprised of mixed media paintings and objects that mix several different materials and techniques such as sand, pigment, acrylic and other substances. I prefer using Japanese colours and those natural earth based materials which remind me of the earth's natural atmosphere, bringing us closer to nature.
